The Ephorate of Antiquities of Messinia and the newly established COIN.S.EP. A+A teleia KALAMATA are co-organizing a periodic photography exhibition entitled "Unseen Memory" at the new art space A49 , created by A+A teleia KALAMATA at 49 Anagnostara Street, in the historic center of Kalamata. The exhibition presents, with impressive photographs and informative texts, findings from the archaeological warehouses of Messinia that are exhibited to the public for the first time .
The exhibition "Unseen Memory" is the fruit of the creative synergy between a public institution and the cooperative effort of a group of people with knowledge and love for culture. It aims to bring the public into contact with the rich cultural stock that is kept, safe but unseen, in the archaeological warehouses. After the archaeological excavation, recording and conservation, the camera took over and brings back to the light – in the eyes of the people – objects of the past, triggers of memory, witnesses of history.
The "Unseen Memory" exhibition is the inaugural activity of the newly established KON.S.EP. A+A teleia KALAMATA, thus inaugurating its space, a versatile cultural space of 380 sq.m. in the center of the city of Kalamata. A+A teleia KALAMATA, both with its establishment and with the creation of the A49 space, aims to implement a variety of actions, which will cover the entire spectrum of cultural development and will be based on synergies with relevant agencies.
On the part of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Messinia, the Director Dr. Evangelia Militsi , the archaeologists Michalis Kappas and Demosthenes Kosmopoulos and the graphic designer Anastasios Papadogonas , and from the side of A+A teleia KALAMATA the President Georgios Liontos , the photographer Thanos Kartsoglou and the graphic designer Vangelis Nikolaou .
